I just wanted to say that it's VERY unlikely that there are TWO Robert L. Roach's, both born in December 1928 in Litchfield, Illinois, who both served in the Air Force. There would have to be two if the man who died in 2008 is not the correct one.

I found a newspaper announcement saying that Robert L Roach and Vivian J Hulsey got a marriage license in Reno, Nevada. Have you seen elsewhere that they actually married? They are not in any Nevada marriage indexes online. Did they marry in California?

Really I'm not sure of anything except on my friend's birth certificate it says her father was Robert L Roach and mother was Vivian Blankenship Hulsey.  I did find the marriage license, but not sure if they actually married.  Her mother is still alive at 90 but throughout the years would not give her information about her dad.  I sent her birth certificate to an Air Force records site trying to get his military records, but evidently they had a fire in the 70's and some records were lost.  They want more information about his military career but we know nothing! 

If this is the correct Robert, he had a son Raymond T Roach, but have found nothing on him.  He later married a Cathy, but cannot find her either.  Most of his siblings have died.

I appreciate all your help.  I am on ancestry and other sites but to no avail.

Just confirming -- Did Robert Roach marry Cathy? Or did Raymond Roach? and when you say "his siblings" do you mean Robert's or Raymond's? Can you provide the siblings' names and death dates?

I found this newspaper tidbit. I think he's the right man since Robert and Vivian both lived in Fairfield, California in 1960.

There are at least nine trees at Ancestry that have Robert L Roach (the man who died in 2008.) Have you tried contacting the tree owners?

Also, his obituary cites a surviving son "Tommy." According to free public records online, Raymond Roach also goes by Tommy Roach.
