James Henry Throssell 1866 naturalised US citizen, baker of Newark NJ unknown death

1896 Tuesday 1st Sep The Chicago Chronicle P1 refers. James Henry sustained serious injuries whilst a patient at Dunnings Mental Institute in 1896. There was a report the following year in the Chicago Times-Herald 1897 Jan 9 about body snatching from Dunnings. I can find no record of his death or burial/disposal. He had a wife who was alive at the time and should have been informed. Are there any records of Dunnings that might shed a light on his death or discharge or any history up to his death thereafter. Thank you for your time. Regards JT

  • Oh Wow ASB, Hit the nail on the head there, thank you very much. I think we can safely assume Your Robert is my Robert too with regards to the date of birth and my Dunnings story. I will try and further the search I am informed that my access is denied on "this" server when opening the link:
apps.ilsos.gov/.../deathSearch.do I guess you must be using a gov computer.
I am also getting the same response from:
       www.ilsos.gov/.../irad.pdf

I hope to ask a librarian at  North Eastern Illinois University about their Cook County Asylum records

Thank you again for such a comprehensive answer
    Regards. John

Ps. Is ASB your offices, moniker or initials?

  • Glad to help, John! I'm not sure why those links won't open for you...? I'm not on a government computer.

Try googling "Illinois Statewide Death Index" and "Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) System" to track down those ilsos.gov links.

    ASB are my initials. :)
