Do you know the name of the city/town where he passed away?

1. Unfortunately a search with the information you provided came up with no useful results. Can you provide a little more information? When Petar passed away it was not Yugoslavia yet. So he probably was born and passed in Slovenia, Croatia or Serbia. Also a place Selo Gerje does not show up for theses areas what does not mean it didn't exist. Where does your information come from? Was Petar once in the US and returned back? Or did your grandfather immigrate to the US and the information comes from him? Can you provide the information for the part of your family which came to the US that we can see what is in their records when available? 

A possibility for the location: A daughter in law originated from Cerje (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerje,_Zagreb) and “Selo” could just mean village.

I just noticed the other thread. Would have been useful to have a hint here to the immigration section. But at least we can say that the origin is obviously Croatia.
