I am looking for the birth record of Giovanni Abbatemarco, born March 21, 1882 in Brooklyn, NY or Sassano, Salerno, Campania, Italy

Antonio Abbatemarco & Rosa Romanelli arrived in the port of NY on 12 Apr 1881. There was no child with them. www.ancestry.com/.../11319135:7488

They returned to Sassano, because their younger son, Domenico was born in Sassano, in December 1885. www.familysearch.org/.../3:1:3QS7-L9C5-B1CN

My guess is the Giovanni was either born in NY in 1882 at home without a midwife, so the birth was never registered or depending when they returned to Italy, Giovanni might have been born on the ship heading back to Italy.
