Seeking the father of Walter Moore

Hello:

I am looking to confirm the father of Walter Moore, I do not believe his mother was married to his father. This information below is what I have so far:

Walter Moore

B. abt 1897 South Carolina

D. 25 Mar 1935 Ellore, Orangeburg, South Carolina

Mother: Sylvia Moore (was married to and had other children with Eugene Mathas Bochette)

Spouse: Genevice Adams- Pickney

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sylvia is shown as "single" on the 1900 census. If you haven't seen that record, that shows Walter was born in Oct. 1896, use this link (registration required, but it's free).... https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6XQC-F4R?i=32&cc=1325221 You might want to do some DNA testing to resolve paternity questions. Walter should have the same Y DNA as his father, and his male offspring.

Thank you for the information Joel. We have done the DNA, just trying to narrow it down being Walter's father was not married to Sylvia.
