Seeking my Great Grandmother's name, son James John Charles. Homewood PA. 1952
Dp,
The most recent U.S. census open to the public is the 1950 one. The census is taken every ten years. There is no 1952 U.S. population census. Looking at the 1950 census for James Charles (exact) in Pennsylvania I see 12 people. That's assuming he was alive in 1950: https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&q.givenName=James&q.givenName.exact=on&q.residencePlace=Pennsylvania&q.residencePlace.exact=on&q.surname=Charles&q.surname.exact=on&f.collectionId=4464515 registration required, but it's free. If I try to see only the Charles surname in 1950 and try to narrow the residence, I see that Homewood in Beaver Co, PA, another in a neighborhood of Pittsburgh, and another in York County, Pennsylvania. If your James Charles was bon in 1952 then his mother's name should be on his birth certificate that also might lead to their marriage material. See: https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/How_to_Find_Pennsylvania_Birth_Records for that. Perhaps a reference librarian at Homewood might help in finding a birth announcement in a local newspaper, or some index.
