I've been reviewing the Enumeration District descriptions for the 1920 and 1930 censuses. (I'm planning to go back to 1880, although I appreciate that this will likely get patchier as I go back.) Some of the scanned images on the FamilySearch site are totally illegible. Take, for example, this sheet of descriptions of EDs in St Louis, MO in 1920. Or this sheet for San Antonio, TX in 1930.
I see that the originals for some Census information was destroyed… But I thought it was worth asking about the original ED description books for years before 1940. Is it possible to get better images or even to view the original paper copies of any of the illegible sheets on the T1224 microfilm series? If so, how would I do that?
