1940 Puerto Rico census

How to locate a Missin Family trying to locate my mother's family and my mother in the census. Mother was born 1932 so I guess I'll have to find a sentence of 1940? Where would I locate census for missing family in 1940?

Puerto Rico which is part of the United States was enumerated in 1940. There should be name indexes available online, such as at FamilySearch.org. In addition, if you have a location you could look through the census sheets, especially if a small community. See: https://stevemorse.org/census/unified.html change the top year to 1940, State: Puerto Rico (we did that so it would fit into our code), and then pick the location and look at the 1940 EDs which are links to the actual census images.
