State Department and Track and Field Athletes in late fifties and early sixties

I am a historian researching Charlie Jenkins (Charles Lamont Jenkins, Sr.), an American Olympic gold medalist in 1956. Jenkins describes "working in seventeen Asian countries, representing the U.S. State Department over a three year period." He recalls "lecturing, conducting clinics for Asian Physical Education teachers and teaching coaches in track and field techniques." I estimate that Jenkins did this between the years 1957 and 1962. How might I find records relating to these programs?

Thank you for posting your question on History Hub.

The records of the Department of State for the period covered by your research are in the U.S. National Archives.  There is, at times, minimal documentation on the various track and field athletes who went overseas under the auspices of the Department of State.
