 As near as we can determine, both the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation and the Commonwealth Fund are private organizations and would maintain their own archives. We're not certain where the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation maintains their archives, but we believe they kept it in-house, so you may wish to contact them. The Commonwealth Fund has apparently deposited their archives with the Rockefeller Archives Center . 
 
 It's our understanding that the National Research Council (NRC) was founded in 1916 and made part of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). While we do have some records of the National Research Council here, the bulk of the records, including records of NRC projects undertaken by the Office of Scientific Research and Development (OSRD) during WWII, were transferred to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) . You may wish to contact the NAS Archives to arrange a research visit . You can find their contact information here .
