The National Archives Catalog will be undergoing extensive maintenance, and as a result, our Citizen Archivist program activities (tagging, transcription and commenting in the Catalog) will be temporarily unavailable from Thursday 11/18/21 to Monday 11/22/21. You will still be able to search the Catalog, but may encounter intermittent outages.
This maintenance is necessary to help improve Catalog functionality and support access to more digitized historical records.
Beginning Thursday 11/18/21 12:01am EST through Monday 11/22/21 6:00am EST, Citizen Archivist program activities will be unavailable. During this time period, we ask that you do not contribute Citizen Archivist tags, transcriptions, or comments to the Catalog or your contributions will be lost. Access to existing National Archives Catalog accounts will also be unavailable during this maintenance window, and you may experience intermittent outages while searching the Catalog.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks to our community of Citizen Archivists, more than TWO MILLION pages of historical records are now enhanced with Citizen Archivist contributions. All of your contributions—including tags, transcriptions and comments—help improve search results for our records and make handwritten or difficult-to-read text accessible for a wider audience. We thank you for your time and efforts, and we look forward to welcoming you back next week to continue unlocking history.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve Catalog functionality now and in the future.
