History Hub is a support community for history enthusiasts, researchers, citizen archivists, family historians, and archival professionals, which is managed by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). NARA moderates the community in accordance with this policy, because we believe that a well-managed community will be more valuable to all members.
NARA does not discriminate against any views. Nevertheless, NARA may monitor any user-generated content as it chooses and reserves the right to remove content for any reason whatsoever, without consent. We do not verify the identity of commenters.
NARA will delete comments that contain abusive, vulgar, offensive, threatening or harassing language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups.
We may remove comments that contain personal information (whether your own or someone else’s), including home address, phone numbers, and email addresses. If you have a specific question about an individual, do not post that person’s Social Security Number here.
NARA will delete comments that are clearly off-topic, that promote services or products, or that promote or oppose any political party, person campaigning for elected office, or any ballot proposition.
We intend to review and post questions between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm ET, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
