I have been reviewing Leonard Bernstein papers and have found that a number of people transcribe the Library of Congress stamp. Is that appropriate?

Hi Barry! Those numbers were applied by the Library of Congress sometime in the past but are no longer actively used by Library staff. Because the numbers are no longer formally in use, I would recommend accepting transcriptions that don't have the marking. However, if volunteers have transcribed the stamp, that's fine too!
Thanks for the great question and attention to detail
