I am reviewing a transcription of a handwritten Leonard Bernstein page. One of the words has been transcribed as "of," but it could also be "ob," which may be an abbreviation for oboe. What should I do in this situation as a reviewer? Thanks.

Can you post a link to the page? If we see the page we can offer an opinion and if we agree, you can make the change and we can accept it.
Henry, I have questions about another complicated Bernstein page: https://crowd.loc.gov/campaigns/bernstein/orchestras/2023778770/2023778770-13/
At the end of the first long paragraph, there are handwritten symbols which the first transcriber interpreted as
"Pife pf pe'l, p'fk l'sd
'gkl':"
I am wondering if this is LB's use of transliterated Hebrew (which I have seen elsewhere but without the non-English characters) or other language, or some other type of notation. What think ye?
Bill

I think that is actual Hebrew. The word after "pronounced" appears to be "shalom". I used Google translate from the English right below and got ישא ה' פניו אליך ונתן לך שָׁלוֹם which appears correct except for the fact that the writing in the document is in Hebrew cursive and the one from translate is in Hebrew print. The words appear correct though. I inserted it in the document to save you time. You can remove or keep it as you think. I hope that helps.
Mystery solved. Thank you.
