Dear Ms. Collier,
Thank you for posting your request on History Hub!
We searched the National Archives Catalog and located the series Class 59 (Railroads, Transportation, Interstate Commerce Commission Acts) Litigation Case Files and Enclosures, 1913 - 1984, Class 60 (Antitrust Violations) Litigation Case Files, 1904 - 1987, Class 60 (Antitrust Violations) Case File Enclosures, 1904 - 1987, and Case Exhibits, ca. 1910 - 1939 in the General Records of the Department of Justice (Record Group 60) that include records regarding investigations and litigation concerning alleged violations of the Sherman Antitrust Act. For more information about these non-digitzed records, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) via email at archives2reference@nara.gov.
We also located the series Docket to "Sugar Cases", 1914 - 1914 in the Records of District Courts of the United States (Record Group 21) regarding the case brought against the American Sugar Company for alleged violations of the Sherman Act. For more information about these non-digitized records, please contact the National Archives at Fort Worth (RM-FW) at ftworth.archives@nara.gov.
You may experience a delay in receiving an initial acknowledgment as well as a substantive response to your reference request from RDT2 and RM-FW. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and patience as we balance mission-critical work and the safety of our staff during the pandemic. Please check NARA’s web page about COVID-19 updates for the latest information.
In addition, the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice provides an online searchable database of 2355 Antitrust Case Filings since 1899. For more information regarding this resource, please contact the division via email at antitrust.atr@usdoj.gov or through their Freedom of Information Act office via antitrust.foia@usdoj.gov.
We suggest that, if you have not already done so, you review the three part History Hub post Case File Indexes Created by the Federal Courts and the databases available through the Library of Congress Law Library. Some of these services require a subscription and are only available to researchers on site at the Library of Congress but some may be available in public or academic libraries in your area. The Law Library may be reached at (202) 707-5079 or online through their Ask a Librarian service.
We hope this is helpful. Best of luck with your research!
