Hi, I noticed when this change originally happened, and there was a slight improvement. But still, my transcription box is frustratingly small. I work on this for 8 hours every weekday and it's become a real problem. I compared a screencap I took before the update, and the transcription box was bigger. I tried updating things, logging out, logging back in, and everything I could think of. Can you PLEASE make the transcription box larger? The header of the site already wastes more than an inch at the top of my screen.

For more details, I'm using Microsoft Edge and working on the Theodore Roosevelt correspondence.

Thank you! The transcription box is back to a useful size, and was fixed on the same day the problem arose!

I had the same problem Catherine and had to stop working. I tried a page or 2 and with the constant scrolling, I was afraid I would get carpal tunnel. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Thank you for flagging this issue, Catherine! We published some necessary updates to the site today around noon and this was an inadvertent consequence. Thanks to messages from you and other volunteers who noticed it quickly, we've been able to get started on a fix right away!

We know this is making transcription and review difficult. It seems not to be an issue on larger screens, so we recommend switching to a bigger device if possible.

We're also aware that the "Full Screen" button was also removed from the interface and hope to have it back in place soon as well.

Our sincere apologies to everyone who is unable to volunteer today due to this issue. We hope to resolve the it ASAP!

Transcription box appears smaller today?

Mid-morning, the transcription box on my screen shrank from around 15 lines, to only 3 lines visible at a time. This makes it almost impossible to scroll back and forth to review and correct transcription, or to see at a glance where I'm working on longer pages.

I hope there is an easy fix! Has this happened to anyone else? Transcribing has - so far! - been the perfect daily distraction for a year spent at home during a pandemic!
