FYI - when having trouble reading a document or deciphering a word, I download the document onto my computer, and save it as an image (.JPG) file, then open the file separately on my computer and I can adjust the photo image's contrast, brightness, and mid-tones using the computer's built-in photo viewing/editing software. I can also enlarge the image more than in the National Archives website platform. Doing this helps me read the text better in many situations.
I also found that typing the transcription text into a .txt file on my computer (using the "Notepad" application program built-in to the computer), then copying & pasting the entire body of text into the Transcription Panel when I'm finished works much easier.
