Hello GandyRichardson,
Thank you for posting your question on History Hub!
Since indigo is dependent upon specific climate conditions, you’ll be looking for plantations in South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and Florida. The record series, National Register of Historic Places and National Historic Landmarks Program Records, available on the National Archives online catalog, is an excellent resource for gathering stories and facts about the specific plantation as well as resource lists.
We also recommend reviewing the state archives for each of these states for indigo cultivation of this time frame as well.
We hope this information has been helpful!
