Looking for a Marcus McCracken Freedman's Bureau Contract Work Record 1866. Markus was a former slave in Newberry, Whitmire, Saluda, Cromer South Carolina... He was married to Emaline Davis daughter of Caroline Barnes of Laurens, S. C. Children were Jemima, Abraham, Wesley and Tenant McCracken. Entered into a work contract with Margaret McCracken.

I was actually able to find the digitized Freedmen's Bureau contract for Markus McCracken via the records on Ancestry.com --they've provided access to the database. He's my great great great grandfather and I've been researching him for quite some time...
