Dear Ms. Peos,
Thank you for posting your request to History Hub!
We suggest that you begin by checking the WWI genealogical information available on our web site. Your ancestor may have filled out a draft registration card. WWI Draft Registration Cards have been digitized and can be searched using FamilySearch (for free) or Ancestry.com (for a fee).
For information about exemptions and alien draft registration, please contact the National Archives at College Park - Textual Reference (RDT2) for a search of the Alien Correspondence Files, 1917-1918 via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide your ancestor’s name and country of origin.
We hope that is helpful. Best of luck with your family research!
Thankyou Rebecca! I had found the draft card via Ancestry, I'm hoping to delve deeper now and find further information. I will definitely email the Alien Correspondence Files. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
